EcoVadis assesses companies on their sustainability performance, using 21 indicators spread across four themes. These themes are: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. In addition, extra attention is paid to the company's CO2 emissions. Companies then receive a score on a scale from 0 to 100, where a higher score represents are better-performing company.
The EcoVadis' methodology is based on the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000 standard.
EcoVadis helps Nijdra Group manage risk and compliance, meet its sustainability goals, and encourage impact at scale by advising Nijdra Group to improve its sustainability performance and that in its value chain. Thanks to EcoVadis, it's now possible to compare the sustainability performance of various companies. For example, companies such as Nijdra Group's clients, can share their scorecards.
Joeri Prince, quality manager at Nijdra Group explains: “our clients increasingly require sustainability assurances, besides EcoVadis we receive similar questionnaires from clients based in the Netherlands as well as further afield. Nijdra Group is leading the way with this bronze medal. And, what's more, this year’s score is even higher than the previous assessment. This time round, Nijdra Group's score was boosted thanks to recent investments in solar panels on the roofs at all its locations!”
